Peter­bor­ough DNA has come a long way since being awar­ded £3 mil­lion by the UK’s innov­a­tion agency the Tech­no­logy Strategy Board to develop a smarter city of the future. Through this pro­gram­me, Peter­bor­ough is tri­al­ling new ways to tackle the city’s issues with innov­at­ive solu­tions. In the pur­suit of sus­tain­ab­il­ity, Peter­bor­ough DNA has high­lighted the need to attract new tal­ent to the city as well as provid­ing oppor­tun­it­ies for devel­op­ing loc­al tal­ent. There have already been examples of this invest­ment, gar­ner­ing pos­it­ive res­ults for the city, which are both scal­able and share­able. Through a series of unique pro­jects, Peterborough’s busi­nesses, city lead­ers and com­munity are tak­ing a col­lab­or­at­ive approach to prob­lem solv­ing and it is this joined up think­ing that is deliv­er­ing real res­ults. Pro­mot­ing sup­port for entre­pren­eur­ship and innov­a­tion is key to Peter­bor­ough DNA’s work and import­ant devel­op­ments have taken place to facil­it­ate the neces­sary sup­port in this area.
